Lipo Boom Reality

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

By Barry Lycka Are you feeling down and out? Do you feel even worse when you look in the mirror? Cosmetic surgeons tell us you are not alone. They say the popularity of reality television shows like ABC TVs Extreme Makeover has led to an increasing boom in cosmetic surgery. You may be one of the many people who are not happy with the way you look. Look in the mirror right now and tell me what you see. Do you see flabby thighs, a sagging chin or a tubby tummy? If so, then liposuction could be just what the doctor ordered. Liposuction is also known in the medical arena as lipoplasty or lipo for short. Lipo surgically removes excess fat from deposits beneath the skin in many areas of the body. The procedure sounds like it hurts. Surgeons use a hollow stainless steel tube called a cannula. The cannula is hooked up to a vacuum. It is inserted into an incision in the skin. Fat deposits are then gently sucked out of the body. It didnt hurt at all, says 25-Year old Jenn Rogers. Rogers is the mother of three year old twins. She decided to have lipo to get her post baby abdomen back. She says, I tried so hard through exercise and diet to do it. But, nothing I tried would work. Liposuction is quickly becoming one of the most popular forms of cosmetic surgery for that very reason. It targets the areas of fat wed like to shoot away. It is commonly used to reduce fat in the abdomen, hips, butt, thighs, chin, neck, back, chest and arms. Can you believe that doctors also use lipo on the knees, ankles and calves? As you can see, liposuction will work on just about anywhere you see fat and want to hide it! It sounds like it hurts, doesnt it? Well, the amount of pain depends on individual circumstances. Liposuction can be achieved painlessly by local or general anesthesia. However doctors consider liposuction a mild surgical procedure. It is performed using a general or local anesthesia. A heavy IV sedation is also used in some cases. Recent advances have done a lot to ease the pain. Doctors can now precisely target fat areas which help to reduce recovery times. Despite the recent popularity, lipo has actually been around for more than a decade. I had my first liposuction in 1992. It was before anyone even knew about it. I wanted to reduce the signs of aging in my face, says retired school teacher, 69 Year Old Rebecca Long. The grandmother of three has had three additional procedures since then. She laughs, People now confuse my daughter with being my sister. I dont know if thats good for her, or bad! You may be wondering whether liposuction is for you. Some folks figure if they have the greenbacks then they can do it. But, whether you have the money to pay for it is just one of the factors you should consider. It is important that a surgeon be board certified for the technique that they are going to use. Youll want to look at his or her experience and safety record. Liposuction is not risk free. There are many things that can go wrong. Complications can occur due to a poor judgment on the part of the doctor. The better educated you are on the procedure, the greater you chances of spotting a problem before it occurs. You should be concerned about disfiguring skin irregularities that can occur if the surgeon tries to take too much fat away in one procedure. The use of a large cannula can also affect the outcome of your procedure. Large cannulas remove fat quickly. However, they are more likely to lead to skin irregularities then small cannulas do. Small cannulas are less than 3 millimeters in diameter. Theres a strong chance youll need a large cannula depending on the amount of fat you need taken away. Surgeons use the small cannulas during the Tumescent Procedure. The American Medical Association says this technique when used with local anesthesia is the safest. Under this method, the diluted local anesthesia lasts for hours reducing the need for narcotic pain relief. Doctors say there have been no reported deaths under this procedure. In addition, even if its used with general anesthesia, Tumescent Procedure is safe if theres no large fat removal. There is another surgical method that utilizes a modified version of the Tumescent Procedure. This modified version combines local anesthesia with general anesthesia or IV sedation. General anesthesia and IV sedation may be dangerous when used alone, just imagine the danger when theyre put together. As a result, an anesthesiologist must be on hand to handle the administration. Youll also want to make sure that you dont have any other surgical procedures the same day as your liposuction. Youll want to avoid long term exposure to anesthesia because its dangerous. Taking away a large amount of fat can lead to serious complications. Also, removing an excessive amount from too many areas can also be dangerous. Youll also want to make sure that you dont have any other surgical procedures the same day as your liposuction. Healing can occur quickly thanks to all the advances in liposuction. Liposuction recovery times are shorter today than a couple of decades ago. You can return to a normal lifestyle within four after surgery with most procedures. However, a little bit of local anesthetic remains in your system. It is later absorbed into the blood stream. Would you believe that draining the anesthetic solution out of your incision actually speeds your rate of healing? It also reduces swelling and bruising after surgery. Drainage is also speeded up by leaving the incisions open instead of closing with sutures. Your surgeon can also make tiny holes in your skin to force drainage. Your surgeon may also encourage you to spandex clothes to promote more drainage. Your surgeon can also drain it through absorptive pads that are placed over your incisions. Despite the surgical concerns, liposuction is changing lives like Jenn and Rebeccas. It can improve body posture and image ultimately leading to a happier, healthier, you. About The Author Barry A. Make The Size Matter

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

By Tina Rinaudo Bigger isnt always better but small isnt always shoddy. You can make a big impact with a small printed pen or an oversized one, depending on your theme, message or company image. You can make the size no matter how big or small matter when you choose promotional printed pens. Small and Superb Skinny plastic pens may not take up more than their fair share of the swag bag but there are some places that skinny plastic pens are ideal. Wallets and planners often come with pen sleeves that dont accommodate large or even average size pens. Some skinny pens, like the Flamenco ballpoint plastic pens, fit very well in tight pen sleeves. These Flamenco plastic pens are inexpensive, too. For between 0.08 and 0.14 per pen, you can order these plastic pens in a single colored logo or message. Good things can come in small packages, as proven by the Riviera Gel Pens offered by many companies. These plastic pens are available in four different colors blue, yellow, red or green. The shiny silver barrel can be imprinted with one color for free or choose a multi-colored imprint for just a little more. The Riviera gel pens start at 0.71 a piece, great for making a big impact on a budget. Everyone loves to use a gel pen. Bigger Can Be Better While larger pens may not fit in snug spaces they sure are easier to find in a bind. As a bonus, theres more imprint space on a large pen than a small one all the better for impressing your message to the pen recipients. Many companies offer a number of giant plastic pen options. Their budget-priced Giant Pens, generically and aptly named, are available in black, orange, blue or red clip and barrel end colors starting at 0.22 each. This cost includes imprint of one color with the option of paying a little more for additional imprint colors. The Planeta ballpoint plastic pens are affordable (starting at 0.32 each) with a range of bright colors available. Choose these fat, ergonomic plastic pens and have the option of green, orange red, purple or blue barrels. The silver trim adds some pizzazz to these futuristic-looking plastic pens. Mega ballpoint plastic pens offer an oversized printing area on both the barrel and the clip. Say a lot or say it big on these reasonably priced plastic pens. Starting at 0.37 each, you can order Mega plastic pens with a single color imprint and have them within a few weeks. Highlight Size and Shape Highlighter plastic pens come in various sizes and shapes. There are triangular, tri-color highlighter plastic pens that are available for as little as 0.59 each. Looking for a single color, more mainstream option? Consider the Data Frost highlighter plastic pen. With four case and ink color options (red, blue, purple or yellow), you can highlight your promotion for 0.32 or just a little more each. There are three in one highlighter stick pens available as well. The pink, yellow and green highlighter plastic pens snap together to produce a single pen. California Personal Injury Lawyers

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

By Richard Romando Compensation is the name of the game when it comes to personal injury lawyers in California. Their objective is to get as much compensation for the plaintiff as possible. Kinds of Personal Injury Cases in California Personal injury cases in California fall under civil lawsuits, which means that the offender is liable only for monetary compensation, and cannot be charged with any criminal liability. Personal injury cases in California are pigeonholed into three different categories: intentional tort, negligent tort and strict liability. Intentional tort is quite self-explanatory: It is a case where the injury or harm was intentionally executed by the offender. Negligent tort occurs when a person?s negligence, recklessness or unintentional actions cause injury to another person. Even if the injury is caused by a dog, it is the pet-owner who is held liable for the actions of the animal. Strict liability does not require any proof that it was the negligence of the offender that caused injury. Common Cases Since most of the personal injury cases that happen in California involve negligence, California injury lawyers are trained to litigate negligent tort. These lawyers specialize in bringing into court personal injury cases resulting from car accidents, traffic collisions, structure liability, injury caused by dangerous property conditions, slip and fall accidents, machine accidents, dog bites or dog attacks. Most of these cases are covered by California homeowner?s liability insurance, California auto insurance, or California underinsured or uninsured motorist insurance policies. In cases of negligence that lead to the death of another person, a California personal injury lawyer can help the plaintiff (victim?s relatives or heirs) bring the case to the California civil court. The claimant can sue the offender for the death of a loved one and seek compensation for the damages, but only the state?s district attorney who can raise a case on criminal charges. White Sun - Tao of Heaven: Heaven and Man are One Entity

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

By Teow Aun Chew The whole universe originated from Tao. Mankind also originated from Tao. Therefore, man and Heaven are connected. Hence man and Heaven can be aligned and united as a single entity and become one. The soul of a man is nurtured by the essence of Heaven and Earth, and hence man possesses the essence of nature. In other words, man possesses the same essence that make up the cosmos, that is, a man is a small cosmos within the large cosmos. The goal of practising Tao is to tranquilize one’s heart. It is better for a practitioner not to have the emotion of joy, delight, sorrow and anger, because if he can eliminate emotions, he will find that he and the cosmos become one entity. The true self of a man is almighty, wise and all good. One should begin with benevolence and justice and then perfect morality in order to be enlightened. Once enlightened, his heart is filled with mercifulness, he is compassionate not only to mankind but also to all animals and living beings and helps others to attain Tao. The true self is the essence of human life as well as the root of the cosmos. The true self is infinitely bright. It is not born, it does not die and has no shape or form. The human body, which has both form and shape, is a temporary dwelling for the true self. Therefore the body has birth and death. The heart is the manifestation of the true self. When one’s heart is pure, it reflects his true self. The heart also disperses into three natures that is, True Nature, Human Nature and Animal Nature. There are two extremes because of this and the distinction between good and bad. True nature is divine and pure and is always good. Human nature is sometimes good and sometimes bad. Animal nature is almost always bad. Good or bad in a man depends on which nature dominates his body. He who overcomes emotions and desires and restores his true self becomes a Saint or a Sage. He who cannot overcome emotions and desires will never be free and becomes ordinary. For example, a mirror itself is clear when it is first made and as the mirror sits, dust is collected and cannot be cleared. A man’s true self is the mirror and the dust is the emotions and desires. Journal Writing — End of Year Tips for Preserving Family Memories

Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

By Michael Boyter As another year draws to an end, it is time to reflect and preserve the individual and family memories of the past year. Your year in review! Things not written down or recorded are soon forgotten. Keeping family memories and stories alive strengthens family bonds and it is very rewarding to look back to see where we were and how weve grown over the past year. In a perfect world we would have all kept a daily, weekly or monthly journal throughout the year, but most of us don’t do that. So lets make up for lost time! Here are some quick ideas and tips for reviewing the events in your life from the past year. Categories: Getting Started Begin by breaking down the year by month, season or major milestones and/or events. Health: What big changes in your health occurred this year? If this category doesn’t jog your memory; it is probably a good thing. Occupation: Write about changes and highlights in your career. Tell about awards won, promotions received or interesting happenings on the job. History: Write about This time a year ago Births: Any newborns this year? Deaths in the Family: Write about those whove passed away this year. Include family, friends and, if there was a well-known individual (someone famous) that also passed away that meant a lot to you. Travel and Residences: Where did you travel to this year? Who did you travel to see? Who in the family moved closer or farther away? Major Purchases: List your major purchases throughout the year. What prompted these purchases? Take a look in your wallet or purse to dig up old receipts. Use copies of old checks, or an online bank ledger/statement to remind you of where you went and what you did. Children: Dont forget your children. What were some of the milestones in their lives this past year? If you children are old enough, ask them to write down 10 things that they remember best about the past year. What write may surprise you. Childrens drawings and artwork: They draw and create so many and it is hard to keep them all. Select the best — scan them and save them on disk. Family Photos: Review your pictures taken and video shot during the last year. Describe the events seen in the pictures and events. For example, birthday parties, events at school with the kids etc.. Family Calendars: Looking back at Home and work calendars, from the current year are easy ways to remember what happened during particular months from the past year.Spark your memory bylooking for “scribbled-in” writing on your wall or desk calendar. Dont throw it away until you check to see what youve written on it. Family Discussion: Take advantage of family togetherness during the Holiday Season. See what they remember. Don’t think you have to do it all by yourself. Use them to jog your memory and tailor them to your individual circumstance. Having a record of each year will, in the end, prove to be a very valuable compilation of family happenings and history. Once compiled, your information can be preserved in many ways. My favoriteis to create a yearly family CD-ROM. F If you can’t remember what you had for breakfast yesterday, how will you remember what you and the family did today 20 years from now? You will cherish looking back at the yearsbut only if you put the effort in now to preserve the memories. Time marches on and the years blur together. Time is no friend to the procrastinating family historian! Michael R. Coconut Oil - A Natural Mouth Ulcer Cure

Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

By Lee Dobbins A mouth ulcer is an open wound in the mouth where tender nerve endings are exposed and can often cause extreme pain to the person who is affected with them especially when they can become irritated. Often a person suffering from mouth ulcers will find it difficult to eat, drink and sometimes even talk and unfortunately these exposed ulcers are vulnerable to infection by bacteria that is find in our mouth and unfortunately create even more pain. Many mouth ulcers often seem to start off as a small bubble or blister which then becomes open and ulcerated and this is when the pain really starts. However, they can be caused accidentally by someone biting themselves or there lips are so dry that they crack and then the ulcers begin to form on their lips. Normally mouth ulcers are caused by either virus, bacteria or fungus and may result in the bodys own immune system attacking the mucosal lining of the mouth. In some cases people who suffer from either Ulcerative Colitis or Crohns Disease (intestinal conditions) may find themselves suffering from mouth ulcers also. A good way of treating mouth ulcers is with coconut oil which kills the bacteria that causes them. It is also good for treating throat infections, gum disease and cavities. Certainly the Pacific Islanders who have a coconut based diet have excellent dental health and rarely suffer from mouth ulcers even when they have never brushed their teeth or used floss or anti-bacterial mouthwash. Certainly coconut oil is ideal for helping to relieve the pain felt from mouth ulcers instantly all you need is get a tablespoon of coconut oil and hold it for a minute on the mouth ulcer. Soon you will feel the pain going away and this relief seems to last for quite a while because of the MCFAs (medium chain fatty acids) find in coconut oil which are rapidly absorbed in to the body and thus the healing process is accelerated. The way coconut oil works is that it has anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties and which can help to combat viruses, bacteria and fungus that can be found in a persons mouth and will cause ulcers. The MCFAs which are in coconut oil also help to enhance the bodys own immune system and thus help it to fight viruses, fungus and bacterial problems. Also coconut oil is great for helping a persons intestinal system by killing any fungi found in the intestinal tract. Above are a number of reasons as to why coconut oil can not only help to treat and heal mouth ulcers but also to help prevent them from forming. Also coconut oil is not messy to apply to the ulcer and is completely edible and natural. Getting To The Truth About Anti-oxidants

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

By Owen Walcher The following paragraphs summarize the work of Anti-oxidants experts who are completely familiar with all the aspects of Anti-oxidants. Heed their advice to avoid any Anti-oxidant problems. Anti-oxidants scavenge free radicals. Today the processed diets that we eat produce free radicals therefore it is essential that we take anti-oxidants to counteract the harm that is being done by the affluent diet. Today there is concern about safe doses of anti-oxidants. As we know vitamins and minerals are good for us. However, anything taken too big a quantity can be harmful. Because vitamins and minerals do not work alone in nature they also do not work alone in our body. They actually work together. A good example of this is Vitamin E. It is regenerated by Vitamin C and supported by selenium. This process of working together is called synergy. This is how a balance of these vitamins is produced. Actually if we can learn to take our supplements in balanced doses than they in turn will be more effective in lower doses. Recently there have been levels set that are acceptable and safe to take. This has been done by the Institute of Medicine who were advising the National Academy of Medicine on minimum and maximum supplement levels. They recommend that we take no more than 1500 I.U.’s of Vitamin E, 2000 mg of Vitamin C and 400 micrograms of selenium per day. Research has confirmed that these levels of vitamins and anti-oxidants are safe for us to take. The Cambridge Heart Association did an anti-oxidant study on 2000 people and found that 400 to 800 I.U.’s per day is optimum to protect against heart disease. 150 to 300 micrograms of selenium is optimum per day and 1000 to 2000 mg of Vitamin C is optimum per day. Some reports in the news have said that high doses of anti-oxidants are harmful to your health. The fact is that too high a dose of Vitamin C can only cause a laxative effect. Vitamin E can thin the blood and selenium if taken to much can cause hair loss. We are living in times when anti-oxidants are essential. Anti-oxidants scavenge free radicals that are produced by: pollution, chemicals, drugs, alcohol, as well as excessive eating of processed foods. The food we eat today can contain any of the following chemicals: additives, preservatives, colorings and pesticide residue. We then add the things we breathe in like: car fumes, paints, aerosols and chemicals from indoor pools. We also absorb chemicals through the skin from our skin care products, shampoos, make-up and sunscreen. Research has shown that some of these chemicals are toxic to our bodies. Inside our bodies these toxic chemicals add to the free radicals that are inside of us. Research has shown that the free radicals add to degenerative diseases and cancer. An estimated 500,000 man made chemicals have been produced since World War II. This means that half a million new chemicals are impacting our bodies that our earlier generations did not have to contend with. Day Camps

Sunday, September 16th, 2007

By Kevin Stith Summer camps can provide a fun and educational way for children to spend their summer vacation. This is because these camps provide a number of activities that can teach children to appreciate the value teamwork, which they can apply in their lives. However, these camps require that children stay and sleep in a location away from their parents for a period of about two to four weeks. For some parents, this is what hinders them from enrolling their children in these camps. They are worried that their child may not be able to cope with the stress of not having them around for a long period of time. To respond to this apprehension, some camps have now relocated to more convenient locations and they have modified their programs so that the campers could go home at days end. These modified camps have then been called day camps. Types of day camps There is also a wide selection of day camps that parents can choose from and the choices are similar to the choices they will be faced with in picking out a summer camp. There are also day camps that cater to specific interests such as Science and Math camps. However, one very popular choice of parents are roughing-it day camps that provide various activities that help children appreciate the value of team work and the value of preserving the environment at the same time. These camps usually last from four to eight weeks, which is considered enough time to build a strong sense of community among campers. Camper groups In these day camps, campers are usually grouped into smaller camper groups that children would belong to for the whole duration of the camp and the usual ratio of counselors to campers is four campers to one counselor. Belonging to these groups while doing activities and joining competitions are said to help children learn how to work together, respect each other and build their confidence. The activities that these children go through are designed for specific age groups and skill level because doing the appropriate age and skill level activities can help children maximize the camping experience based on their specific needs. Day camps offer one of the best alternatives for parents who may have children that may not be able to handle being apart from them for long periods of time. These day camps offer the same benefits that a traditional summer camp offers since the only difference is that when your child is enrolled in a day camp, you will be able to ask them about their experience by days end. Camp provides detailed information on Camps, Summer Camps, Day Camps, Weight Loss Camps and more. Camp is affiliated with Summer School Programs. Church Logo Designs - Components Of Church Logo Designs

Saturday, September 15th, 2007

By Sania Salman Church logo designs are different from logos belonging to other industries. As the name itself define it, Church Logo designs are not meant to be attractive but they should be portraying the churchs motive well. If you ever look at church logo designs, you will actually find them very different from conventional logos. The reason is very apparent; the motive behind the logo design. Normally, companies produce eye catching and competitive logos in order to attract the public. However, this is not the case with church logo designs. Churches do not produce logos to attract public towards them but the only motive they have behind a logo design is to tell their objective to the public. As said before, church logo designs have different characteristic than logos belonging to other industries. Therefore, some basic elements of church logo designs are given below: Images used in Church Logos: There is one image that you will find in nearly 99% of church logo designs and that is the cross sign. Nevertheless, this is the sign of Christianity without which no Church can display its message. It simply shows that the church is serving the people of Christ and is a place where Christians can come and worship. Color scheme: The most prominent color in church logo designs is white. As everyone nearly knows the connection between white color and Christianity, therefore it becomes the primary reason to incorporate white color in church logo designs. Other colors which you can find in church logo designs are shades of red and yellow. Yellow is incorporated in church logo designs because yellow color signifies light and red color signifies blood. Fonts for Church logos: It has been observed the formal fonts are commonly used with church logos. One thing should be remembered that readable fonts are more helpful in case of visibility while reprinting. Church Logos are also designed to convey the gestures of religious organizations. A professional church logo always gives a sense of stability to its congregation. Such steps and efforts in the development of a good prfessional church logo always build a strong relation of trust. If half of the observers remember the church logo, it can be considered to be of great success for the church logo designers.
